District 6 Report — September 2024
Greetings from District 6 Brothers and Sisters. Unfortunately, the work picture remains slow in Local 11. I encourage all members to take classes and get your certifications up to date to make you eligible for more job calls. Taking classes at the ETI will count towards your 32 hours of continuing education units required every three years to maintain your state certification. Some of the classes include a stipend upon completion as well.
If you are currently not working in local 11, I recommend getting a travel letter from the hall and going to sign some surrounding local’s books. There’s work out there if you’re willing to travel. If you take a call in another local be sure to follow their rules and agreement. You can keep your spot on the books in your home local while working in another local as a book two JW. But be sure to take yourself off all other local’s books you signed when you take a call at home or out of another local unions hall.
As always, if you have any questions please give me a call.
