District 1 North Report — October 2025

Happy October, District 1.

This month brings lots of opportunities to get involved. We had the Local Picnic & Health Fair on October 11, the EWMC Trunk or Treat at the ETI on October 25, and at the beginning of November we will hold the D4 Chili Cookoff. So, please come out and enjoy the Brotherhood and Sisterhood.

Now, on to jobs. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of IBEW Local 11 staff, LA FED, LA/OC Building Trades, and Local 11 rank and file members who volunteered their time, the LA City Council approved the LA Convention Center expansion and modification project. This four-year, $2.6 billion project was a long and hard-fought battle, and this expansion will not only provide many IBEW jobs over the next four years, it will also create lots of long-term jobs, because both the frequency and sizes of future conventions will increase. This is a big win for District 1!
