Political Director’s Report – July 2024

Thank You, President Biden

Please join me in thanking President Joe Biden for his service. Simply put, President Biden promised and delivered good union jobs and saved our economy from collapse.

We have never seen a presidential candidate drop out of a campaign so far along into their candidacy. I can’t imagine how hard of a decision that is to make. President Biden showed everyone that he will always put the country before himself. He should be remembered as the most pro-union President and someone that beat Donald Trump.

Moving forward, the IBEW has endorsed Kamala Harris for President. Yes, we must unite and deny Donald Trump another four years in the White House. But we also need to win several congressional seats to take control of the House. I hope you will join me when it comes time to volunteer on those campaigns.

Please remember, President Biden led us during the aftermath of the COVID pandemic and saved many lives. He knew always the importance of a healthy retirement and saved multi employer pensions. He spearheaded legislation such as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the CHIPS and Science Act that created major investments and produced IBEW jobs. President Biden always had our back.

Lastly, I want to share that Business Manager Robert Corona and staff member Diana Limon will be attending the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago as official delegates and I will be attending the convention as a guest. IBEW Local 11 will have direct representation at this historic event. Looking forward to reporting back about what happens.
