Unit 14 Civil Service Report – October 2022

The following are the current updates for contract negotiations.

LA City:

We have reached a tentative agreement with the City for a one-year contract in order to close the chapter with the outgoing mayor. We will resume negotiations early in 2023 for a successor MOU with the new administration. Please be on the lookout for ratification information shortly. Negotiations for a successor MOU 35 Hiring Hall agreement are progressing.


We continue to negotiate a successor to our Unit E agreement. The Building Trades held a district-wide Zoom meeting to explain to the membership how the implementation of a new retiree health plan is delaying progress but could ultimately provide us with the leverage we need to achieve the gains we desire. Continued patience is the key.

LA County:

MOU 411 and 412 contracts have been ratified overwhelmingly by our membership. The result is a 3-year agreement which includes 12% in pay increases and a $1,375 signing bonus.
