From the President: If Our Work Looks Good, We Look Good

Brothers and Sisters,

We had a tremendous year last year, and the two months that we have just completed show that our work picture isn’t slowing. Our Business Agents are appointing more and more job stewards and many contractors are putting in job calls with overtime.

I would like to remind everyone that with this much work going on, our Business Agents, try as they may, can’t get to every jobsite as often as they would like. It’s at this point that I need to encourage you all to read the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that you are working under. Knowing what the rules are and how they are interpreted is very important. If there is something that you don’t understand, please call one of the Agents or the main office and ask. It’s better that a situation be defined and addressed before it becomes an issue.

Remember that it’s imperative that we all work together safely and productively. Like a team, our local needs to project a persona of “best skilled and trained.” If our work looks good, we look good!

In Solidarity,

Rusty Roten
President / Sr. Asst. Bus. Mgr.
