District 1 South Report — October 2025

Greetings siblings!

We are entering a new season with changes in temperature and a change in daylight hours. We are starting to bundle up with layers of clothing and receiving warm hugs from the people that surround us. Let’s all remind ourselves how fortunate we are and celebrate the little things.    

Our forever growing industry is picking up. I want to thank and congratulate everyone who worked hard and contributed to help Los Angeles elected officials support the Convention Center expansion project. This project will create union jobs both in the short- and long-term. Now that this expansion project has been funded, there have been talks about funding other potential projects to beautify the City of Los Angeles even further.

I want to encourage all our members to come out and be a part of your local union’s growth and development. Come to the General Meeting. Come to your Unit Meeting. Come to the Welfare Committee Meeting. Understand what’s going on in your local union.
