EAA Navigates Payroll Glitches and Staff Shortages While Supporting Members

By Marleen Fonseca

EAA has been busy the last few months dealing with challenges in the City: A new payroll system and all the glitches and inaccuracies that accompany this type of transition, a fragile City budget that has forced a quasi-hiring freeze, and the resulting staff shortages that are causing heavier workloads and delays to processing newly negotiated bonuses.

The first Financial Status Report for the City’s Fiscal Year budget 24/25 will be released in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, it does not show improvement.

On a positive note, the Union continues to host promotional trainings for members, recently providing a two-day management course that drew 500 registrants and 350 attendees to each. We also attended Dodger’s Union Night with 200 members, and we’ll be 400 EAA Union Members strong at the final Angel City Football Club match in October.
