    Q: What does the future work picture look like?

    A: Local 11 contractors have many large jobs ongoing now and many

    jobs that are in bidding and planning stages, increasing job opportunities.
     

    Q: What other Locals have work & is a Travel Letter required?

    A: You should buy a Local Directory (Tramp Guide) and call.
     

    Q: How do I become a Union member or Union employer?

    A: On this site are forms you may print & fax to us. We will

    contact you.
     

    Q: How do I get a R.S.O. card?

    Q: When is the next C.O.M.E.T. class?

    Q: My father was an electrician & died what do I need to do?

    A: If you know what Unit the deceased member belonged to

    contact them, if not contact any Unit office for help.
     

    Q: I need to change my beneficiary(s). Who do I call?

    A: Contact the Unit you belong to.
     

    Q: I have questions about my Local pension and/or Health

    plan(s), who do I call?

    A: Contact the Health & Pension Trust. Call: 323-221-5861
     

    Q: I have questions about my International pension and/or Death

    Q: What is the rate for Swing / Graveyard shifts?

    A: Swing = Straight time +17.3%, for 8 hours pay & benefits;

    Graveyard = Straight time +31.4%, for 8 hours pay & benefits.
     

    Q: How much are my dues and when are they payable?

    A: For most classifications 3½% of gross is paid as working dues

    and Basic dues for "A" members is $27.50 to $30.50 payable

    the 1st of each month. Discounts are applied to pre-paid.
     

    Q: How do I let the Union know I've moved?

    A: Fill out the change of address area on your dues return

    envelope. You should also contact you Unit office, Health and Pension, and credit union office.
     

    Q: Why can't I pay my dues in my Unit office and/or in cash?

    A: The Unit offices are not staffed or equipped to issue a dues

    receipt, and no office may except cash do to liabilities.
     

    Q: Why is almost 30% of my vacation check deducted?

    A: You are on automatic working dues check off. 12% of your

    gross earnings are deducted for your vacation. Your working

    dues are 3½ equaling 29.1% of 12% of your vacation check.
     

    Q: Why can't I sign the Book(s) during dispatch?

    A: While dispatching, all clerical personnel are busy and the

    computer system can not except entries. Furthermore, cards

    will not be pre-stamped in order to assure accuracy.
     

    Q: When does dispatching start?

    A: Local 11 dispatching starts at 8:30AM
     

    Q: Where should I go to get a Travel Letter?

    A: To any Unit office.
     

    Q: What is a short job?

    A: A short job is any job posted as 120 hours or less.
     

    Q: What are the hours to sign the Book(s)?

    A: Members 7:30-7:45AM & after dispatch till 4:30PM (but not

    between 12 to 1PM)Travelers 1:30-3:30PM in the Metro Office.

    For those classificaations not telephone dispatched, members already

    registered (ON THE BOOK) must sign the 'DAYBOOK' before

    8:00AM to be elibable for dispatch that day. 

     

    Q: Why can't I find my name on the Book(s)?

    A: The Book(s) are in chronological order, sing-in dates &

    times are printed in order on the Book(s) & on your "Out of

    Work" registration form. If you still can't find your name,

    be sure to asked the dispatcher before Dispatching starts.
     

    Q: What is the phone number for next days dispatch?

    Q: Why were there more calls posted than on the job line?

    A: The job line is provided as an indication of upcoming work.

    Local 11 will never engage in a policy that would cost:

    a member a day's pay, the employer a day's work force, the

    customer a day's business.
     

    Q: If I should need help with my dues, because of illness or

    lack of work, where can I get help?

    A: Contact your Unit's Welfare Committee.
     

    Q: When is the next Roll Call?

    A: Roll Call will be in the week of the General Meetings, which is the 3rd Thursday of each month,

    Monday through Friday of that week in any District office between 7:30 am & 4:30 pm, but not during lunch or dispatch.

    ALL CLASSIFICATIONS ON ALL BOOKS, EXCEPT APPRENTICES MUST ROLL CALL !!!
