Sound & Communications — June Report

Saturday, June 8th, was the monthly meeting for the Sound & Communications Unit. A good crowd showed up for Unit Elections. Nominations took place, the voting happened, and winners and the members were notified. But there was a problem. We/I did not follow the BY-LAWS as written, therefore all results from the improperly conducted election are nullified as if it never happened. New elections will be held at our next Sound & Communications Unit meeting at 9:00 AM on July 13, 2019. We will be voting for Chairman: The duties shall be similar to those of the Local Union’s President but shall in no way conflict. Vice Chair: The duties shall be similar to those of the Local Union’s Vice President but shall in no way conflict. Recorder: The duties shall be similar to those of the Local Union’s Recording Secretary but shall in no way conflict. The Recorder shall supply a copy of the Minutes of Unit meetings to the Business Manager and to the Recording Secretary of the Local Union as soon as possible after each such meeting. We will also be looking for volunteers for the Welfare Committee. We’re asking everyone that showed up for the election to come, let’s do it again and bring a Brother or Sister. Be sure to bring your yellow dues receipt, as they will be checked at the door.

Let me remind you all that certifications, VDV, FLS, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, are needed by all our members and classes are being set up for those that are lacking these certs. Get in touch with the ETI to register for these classes. If we are to become the leaders in this part of the industry, everyone needs to be involved.

Work Safe, Play Hard,

Chuck Webb
